Ever since I first heard of them about five years ago I dream of having one. Earthships are unique looking houses partly made of byproducts of the capitalistic society like tires, bottles or cans. Earthships heat and cool themselves naturally via solar or thermal dynamics, they collect their own power from the sun and the wind, they harvest their own water from rain and snow melt, they treat their own sewage locally and produce food in significant quantities. |

The Codex Seraphinianus is a book written and illustrated by the Italian artist, architect and industrial designer Luigi Serafini and appears to be a visual encyclopedia of an unknown world, written in one of its languages, a thus-far undeciphered alphabetic writing which has defied complete analysis by linguists for decades. The book lies in the uneasy boundary between surrealism and fantasy, given an odd literary status by its masquerade as a book of fact. |

How did it all start? Here's the offical version: The SubGenius concept was first delivered to the Saint of Sales, J.R. “Bob” Dobbs, by ageless alien space monster JHVH-1, in 1953. 25 years later Reverend Ivan Stang caught the SubGenius concept like a sudden illness, or a bolt of badly-aimed lightning, while standing with his friends Dr. Philo Drummond and Dr. X in Drummond’s driveway on Merrimac Street in Dallas. They had been wondering why they weren’t rich yet, even though they were “obviously” smarter than Average Joe next door. Philo said, “Well, it’s probably because we’re not geniuses, but just… SUB-geniuses.”
