Philip K. Dick is the most filmed science fiction author in Hollywood. With Radio Free Albemuth another PKD novel will find its way onto the big screen this year (no release date scheduled yet). The film is written, directed, and produced by John Alan Simon. Filming began in October 2007 in and around Los Angeles. The film stars Alanis Morissette as Sylvia (a singer who may free the world), Ashley Greene as Rhonda, Jonathan Scarfe as Nicholas Brady, Shea Whigham as Phil, Katheryn Winnick as Rachel Brady, Hanna Hall as Vivian Kaplan, and Scott Wilson as President Fremont. John Alan Simon decided to cast the movie with less known actors as the leads because he thought that this way he could achieve more realism. Radio Free Albemuth is not a big-budget action movie. According to the director almost everybody who was involved in the movie worked at a fraction of their normal salary "for the privilege of involvement with such interesting and provocative material."

Speculations regarding the purpose of the chemical release range from global dimming, population control, weather control to biowarfare and it is claimed that these trails are causing respiratory illnesses and other health problems. |
